#MusicMonday - "Fly" by Nicki Minaj and Rihanna

#MusicMonday is dedicated to "Fly" by Nicki Minaj and Rihanna. A powerful song sung by two beautifully inspiring women. The lyrics are uplifting and the music video shows that beauty can grow from tragedy. #FromTheGroudUp

"Fly"

(feat. Rihanna)

[Chorus - Rihanna:]

I came to win, to fight, to conquer, to thrive

I came to win, to survive, to prosper, to rise

To fly

[Nicki Minaj:]

I wish today it will rain all day

Maybe that will kinda make the pain go away

Trying to forgive you for abandoning me

Praying but I think I'm still an angel away

Angel away, yeah strange in a way

Maybe that is why I chase strangers away

They got their guns out aiming at me

But I become Neo when they're aiming at me

Me, me, me against them

Me against enemies, me against friends

Somehow they both seem to become one

A sea full of sharks and they all smell blood

They start coming and I start rising

Must be surprising, I'm just surmising

I win, thrive, soar, higher, higher, higher

More fire

[Chorus - Rihanna:]

I came to win, to fight, to conquer, to thrive

I came to win, to survive, to prosper, to rise

To fly

[Nicki Minaj:]

Everybody wanna try to box me in

Suffocating every time it locks me in

Painting their own pictures then they crop me in

But I will remain where the top begins

Cause I am not a word, I am not a line

I am not a girl that can ever be defined

I am not fly, I am levitation

I represent an entire generation

I hear their criticism loud and clear

That is how I know that the time is near

So we become alive in a time of fear

And I ain't got no motherfucking time to spare

Cry my eyes out for days upon days

Such a heavy burden placed upon me

But when you go hard your nay's become yay's

Yankee Stadium with Jay-Z and Kanye

[Chorus - Rihanna:]

I came to win, to fight, to conquer, to thrive

I came to win, to survive, to prosper, to rise

To fly

[Bridge - Nicki Minaj:]

Get ready for it

I came to win

Get ready for it

I came to win

I came to win, to fight, to conquer, to thrive

I came to win, to survive, to prosper, to rise

To fly

#MusicMonday - [TAKE ACTION EDITION] Michael Jackson: "Heal The World"

#MusicMonday this week is dedicated to Michael Jackson, who is a timeless and classic Musician that has and continues to inspire the importance of individuality around the world through respect for diversity. It is hard to put into words what Michael did to inspire others, so in the true beauty and essence of music, it shall speak for itself...

What can you do to heal the world?

In partnership with www.ichoosemynews.com, here is my personal list to take action:

Use a reusable water bottle everyday.
Use a mug, instead of paper or compostable cups for coffee/tea.
Take the bus, walk or ride my bike to work everyday.
Help plant trees (and send digital certificates when I do).
Pick up trash when I see it on the ground around me, especially foil products.
Use reusable grocery/tote bags when shopping/traveling and in general for carrying items.
Use digital resources as much as possible, instead of paper (i.e. sporting event and concert tickets).
Carpool with friends and family whenever possible (...the more the merrier!)
Support and donate to conservation organizations by being aware and volunteering my time and money to help.

Encourage others to do these things through word of mouth and actively engage in asking others what they are doing to help so that I can learn and do what they are doing, too.

FULL LYRICS TO "HEAL THE WORLD" by MICHAEL JACKSON:

There's a place in your heart
And I know that it is love
And this place could be much
Brighter than tomorrow
And if you really try
You'll find there's no need to cry
In this place you'll feel
There's no hurt or sorrow

There are ways to get there
If you care enough for the living
Make a little space
Make a better place

Heal the world
Make it a better place
For you and for me
And the entire human race
There are people dying
If you care enough for the living
Make it a better place
For you and for me

If you want to know why
There's love that cannot lie
Love is strong
It only cares of joyful giving
If we try we shall see
In this bliss we cannot feel
Fear of dread
We stop existing and start living

The it feels that always
Love's enough for us growing
So make a better world
Make a better place

Heal the world
Make it a better place
For you and for me
And the entire human race
There are people dying
If you care enough for the living
Make a better place for you and for me

And the dream we were conceived in
Will reveal a joyful face
And the world we once believed in
Will shine again in grace
Then why do we keep strangling life
Wound this earth, crucify its soul
Though it's plain to see
This world is heavenly
Be god's glow

We could fly so high
Let our spirits never die
In my heart I feel you are all my brothers
Create a world with no fear
Together we cry happy tears
See the nations turn their swords into plowshares

We could really get there
If you cared enough for the living
Make a little space
To make a better place

Heal the world
Make it a better place
For you and for me
And the entire human race
There are people dying
If you care enough for the living
Make a better place for you and for me
Heal the world
Make it a better place
For you and for me
And the entire human race
There are people dying
If you care enough for the living
Make a better place for you and for me

Heal the world
Make it a better place
For you and for me
And the entire human race
There are people dying
If you care enough for the living
Make a better place for you and for me

There are people dying
If you care enough for the living
