blink-182 at Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View, CA

I had the honor of seeing blink-182 perform at Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View, CA last night with my best friend and Volite, INC. business partner, Kristen.
Supporting musicians were: DJ Spider, All Time Low, A Day To Remember.

The show was so much fun and I'm so glad that blink-182 is back in action as a band!

#ThankfulThursday - Edition #7: Natalie Holbrook

This week for Thankful Thursday I'm taking it back to the origins of the guitar pick belt and dedicating to Natalie Holbrook. Natalie and I went to high school together and instantly bonded over music. She and I loved the same bands and went to shows together all the time at so many different venues in San Francisco (i.e. Slims, Bottom of the Hill, The Fillmore, etc. etc.) We always had so much fun and I loved hanging out with Natalie because she has so much energy and passion for life and music. She is not afraid to act silly, spark up a conversation with anyone and go out of her way to have a good time.

One day when we were hanging out I came up with an idea to make a guitar pick belt, so we went to the local music store in San Mateo (B Street Music) and I picked up some guitar picks. We went back to Natalie's house in Foster City and I made the belt because we were heading to a show that night, but I was too afraid to wear the belt because I thought it might fall apart. I ended up wearing that belt for the first time at Warped Tour that summer. Out of a crowd of thousands, a bunch of people kept coming up to me to compliment me on my belt and ask me where I got it. I was impressed that people noticed and liked it so much, so when I got home I told my Mom about it and we started the process of patenting the belt and incorporating what became Volite, INC. That's how it all began...back in 2004!

#MusicMonday - DOUBLE DOSE: Mae & Mae Robertson

#MusicMonday this week is a DOUBLE DOSE!

So awhile ago I was trying to look up a band that I love called Mae and stumbled across an artist named Mae Robertson. I checked out her music and absolutely loved it! They are very different, yet both soothing to listen to with beautiful piano, overall great musicianship and lyrical talent. Check them out!

#ThankfulThursday - Edition #6: Heather Wallace aka BIF

Heather Wallace is my Best International Friend aka my BIF! She and I made that up years ago as a special title for our friendship. Heather and I both love music, which is what originally brought our friendship together many moons ago. Our friendship spreads over the entire span of North America, uniting the United States and Canada between friends ;) She is one of my few true best friends, a friend that I love dearly and someone who can always make me laugh. We often have what we call HLAs, which are laugh attacks based on inside jokes and new jokes that we randomly make up on the fly. Heather is a sweet, caring, goofy, honest, giving, loving friend and I wish that we lived closer so that we could spend more time together. We have so many great memories from our various visits and adventures in Canada and the United States! Her family and friends have always welcomed me with open arms and I consider them a 2nd family to me. I am so grateful for all of the good times we have shared and can't wait to give Heather a BIG hug the next time I see her. I miss you, Heather! xoxo

Did you know that the O'Neill surf brand is originally a Californian surf wear and surfboard brand that started in 1952 by Jack O'Neill and moved down the coast from San Fransisco to Santa Cruz?

In 1996 O'Neill set up the O'Neill Sea Odyssey, a free, ocean-based program to educate young people about the marine environment. Some 75,000 kids have participated in this program. O'Neill is involved in various other causes to help support the environment.
